Wushu Shaolin was established in 2001 by Salvador Redner and a group of avid enthusiasts from San Pedro, California. Initially, the group practiced at the San Pedro Korean Bell and a local community center called Toberman Settlement Home. After many years at Toberman, Wushu Shaolin helped rehabilitate numerous youth free of charge.
In 2004, the founder of Wushu Shaolin Salvador Redner moved to Northern California after receiving acceptance to the University of California Berkeley. During a period of 4 years, Wushu Shaolin Kung Fu began to grow in Richmond, California at the Flips-N-Flops Sports Complex. During a time when Richmond was labeled one of the most dangerous cities in America, Wushu Shaolin Kung Fu helped empower youth to overcome personal struggles through the practice of martial arts.
On January 1st, 2009 Wushu Shaolin Kung Fu Headquarters was officially established with a Grand Opening Ceremony. Today, Wushu Shaolin continues to strive with more members joining every year.
